NOW Series - Chinese History in Tucson
The early Chinese settlers came to Tucson seeking opportunities and a way to support the families they left in China. This presentation will introduce the history and important people of Tucson’s Chinese community from the 1870s to the 1960s.

About the event
Presented by Sandy Chan, retired Faculty Librarian at Pima Community College. Ms. Chan was the former President of the Arizona State Genealogical Society and was the lead on the Tucson Chinese history lab in collaboration with the Arizona Historical Society’s Library & Archive. She is the author of the article “The Incredible Life of Ah One: Tucson’s Chinese Sailor”, published in the Journal of Arizona History.
